Bird Observation Workshops for Children
The objective of these workshops is to let children know the birds from their region, their importance and their conservation in a fun, dynamic and educational way. There are indoor activities and outdoors activities with bird watching trips. During the trips, children are given besides a mini-guide to common birds from Yucatan a Good Observer Manual, which contains advice on how to observe birds on a proper way during the field trips.

 

Solid Waste Management
This is a campaign about proper solid waste disposal on the municipalities that are part of the Reserves of the Biosphere of Ria Lagartos and Ria Celestun and 4 other communities on the north coast of Yucatan State. The objective is to sensitize local communities and its authorities about the health, economic and environmental benefits of a proper and organized PET plastic recollection and commercialization system; as well as continue on the search of an integral solid waste disposal system.

Fire Prevention
The responsible fire management campaign’s objective is to diminish the quantity and coverage of the impacts of forest fires in the Yucatan east region; by means of awareness and straightening of local inhabitants’ capabilities, in order to obtain a higher organized social participation.
